At a time when we have more millions of refugees seeking assistance, the Irish branch of Amnesty seems incapable of donating it required share to the far more useful group Amnesty International. For whatever reason it seems that almost every year Amnesty Ireland returns a loss and for that reason does not fulfill its obligations to Amnesty International.

The organisation recorded a €191,852.00 deficit in 2015, which has now accumulated to a €1.3 million deficit over several years.

It is particularly interesting that in 2015 the Irish branch of Amnesty International has run up a €1.3 million deficit, this is despite attracting record numbers of paid members. This increase in income was absorbed by the massive increase in salaries in 2015.
